in the begining of Madness Consternation Hank had half his face cut off, why is that?

I know the reason why Savior killed Hank...

He wanted to get back at him for killing him in episodes before, or that he saw Hank as a threat, so he killed him, but then saw that Hank was a good guy, so He wanted to fill in for him. Either way, Jesus isn't going to let The Auditor suceed in whatever he was trying to do. But then he ended up dying.

So am I right?
